Personal Development Plan

As part of this module the student is required to put together a personal career development plan and any future goals, skills or experiences which they wish to achieve.
Below is a table of tasks and goals in which the student has put together to show how they wish their career to progress in the next 6 months, to once they are graduated.

Including the tasks which have been set out; certain companies within the trend forecasting will be mainly targeted such as:

-The Future Lab    -Trend Watching  -Global Research Colour    -Trend Union    -Mode Information

However, also creative and digital research companies will be included, as the student will be able to gain valuable experience in these fields and apply the skills learnt from university to the tasks in hand. If the some of the tasks set out in the table cannot be fulfilled with the major trend forecasting companies the student can broaden their search and target creative industry companies for internships and possible job opportunities.
There are many websites to help students get off the ground with looking for internships in the UK and abroad, such as:

With all of these companies you can put in your requirements of location, duration and type of work in and can be notified once opportunities arise. This allows you to be constantly aware of what opportunities are available and can continuously be applying for internships/jobs. By completing multiple applications the student can learn and practice writing cover letters and get to know more companies by researching them more. Students should also use social media platforms such as LinkedIn, which allows you to look at company profiles and who works there. This can therefore give you the upper hand by finding a direct contact name, rather than addressing C.V's or cover letters to 'whom'.
